DKMU PUBLIC CLASSES
DKMU is now holding public classes on magickal topics from June through September every year, taught by several of our members of various backgrounds and expertise. Drop in and learn something new! Anyone can participate, but depending on the class topic, some pre-existing magickal experience may be recommended. Check the class descriptions on the schedule below for more information.
Classes are held on the Discord Server, which requires a short verification and screening process in order to join. Please join a day or two ahead of time to make sure you don't miss your class. Once you are verified in the Discord server, just join the "Class-in-Session" voice channel under "The Voices" category a few minutes before class time.
These classes reflect the opinions and experience of their individual instructors, and do not necessarily reflect the views or philosophy of DKMU as a whole.
Note: All classes may be audio-recorded and archived for public use. By speaking during a class you consent to your speech being recorded and published.

- Class Description: We will explore the tools of the western tradition: the structured, mystical mathematics of Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa's magic squares, their relationship with planets, uses and Planetary Deities, and finally how they can be related to the dynamic, fluid practices of Chaos Magick.

- Experience Recommended: None, but previous knowledge of the concept of sympathetic magic and "witchcraft" style magic will help.
- Class Description: A workshop that will serve as an intro into creating your own spells and rituals. This will approach magic from a sympathetic and ingredient-based system, like those found in Cunningham's Encyclopedias, however we will also discuss the importance of personal associations, cultural beliefs surrounding the ingredients, and how to use them more deeply than surface level keywords. Various casting methods will also be discussed. We will also discuss various ways spells fail, how to address those issues. I will demonstrate the process of creating a spell or ritual from scratch to show my thought process and answer questions while doing so and will provide a basic template for students to keep for future use.
